25 Cousteau Red Hat Day National Marine Sanctuaries celebrate Jacques Cousteau’s life. Cousteau’s immense contributions to marine science and conservation, including the production of more than 120 documentaries, advancing the science of scuba, and promoting environmental activism, are indisputable.

12-17 Down Under, Out Yonder Educator Workshop and Scuba Field Experience This 5-day workshop is designed to introduce educators to Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, coral reef ecology, ocean conservation, and reef fish identification. 26-30 Mass Coral Spawning This annual event happens 7-10 days after the full moon in August. Sanctuary researchers will be on the scene to record and learn from this spectacular event.
