GET INTO YOUR SANCTUARY DAY

June 1, 2015 - As a travel destination, few places on the planet can compete with the diversity of the National Marine Sanctuary System, which protects America’s most iconic natural and cultural marine resources.

We are celebrating these special ocean places by hosting a system-wide series of National "Get into Your Sanctuary" Day events over the weekend of June 27-28th, 2015.

Saturday, June 27, 2015
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Aquarium at Moody Gardens

Since it's not easy to "Get Into" Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, we will be hosting our event in the Aquarium at Moody Gardens on Saturday, June 27th.

Traveling exhibit section
Our new traveling exhibit opened at Moody Gardens in February 2015 and will be on display for the remainder of the summer.

Look for us by the new FGBNMS Traveling Exhibit on display in the lower atrium of the aquarium. We'll be staffing the area to talk about the sanctuary and provide some neat photo opportunities in front of a large reef mural.

Table top and easel displays of maps showing potential sanctuary expansion areas
This mural was created by 162 visitors at our 2012 Ocean Discovery Day event.

Get your picture taken and posted online!

We are also promoting this effort on our social media channels throughout the month of June, and we'd like YOU to be part of it.
